Celebrating Shichi-Go-San in Texas

Congratulations to all the children and families celebrating Shichi-Go-San in Texas. At Nappy Time Portraits, we're delighted to celebrate your child's healthy growth by holding Shichi-Go-San photo sessions in collaboration with Miyako-san, a kimono dressing instructor and organizer of Kimono Mosaique.

Since the fall of 2020, when many families could not return to Japan due to the pandemic or had to give up on going back, we started offering Shichi-Go-San photography to celebrate children's growth. Thanks to its popularity, we're continuing this year with both indoor set-ups and, by popular demand, outdoor shoots in the vast Texan landscape or Japanese gardens, tailored to your preferences. For families with small children who find it difficult to go out, we believe shooting at your home or garden will also result in memorable photographs. We're flexible with locations – "anywhere" is our motto!

Kimono rentals for children and adults, including dressing services, are provided by Kimono Mosaique, while Nappy Time Portraits handles the set-up and photography, offering a memorable photo session experience. Photoshoots for siblings, the whole family, and individuals of any age are all warmly welcomed.

For those who wish to wear a kimono but are not celebrating Shichi-Go-San, or would like to celebrate their Coming of Age with a kimono, we also have rental kimonos available. Please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your photography style preferences.

※ If you have your own kimono, we also offer a dressing service only.
※ Please inform us of the height of the person wishing to wear the kimono at the time of reservation.
※ In the event of significant damage or soiling, repair and cleaning costs may be charged.
※ For on-site photography assistance, please consult with us if the location is more than 25 miles from the Cedar Park area in North Austin.
※ If no photography assistance is needed, please return the rental set on the same day.
※ Payment is accepted via Venmo or cash by the day of the event.

※ In addition to image data, printed photos, art board prints, ornaments, mugs, and more are available for purchase at an additional charge.
※ A $50 payment is required at the time of booking. This fee is non-refundable, even if you are unable to attend the photo session. The remaining balance can be paid via Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check by the day of the shoot.

Requests for When Wearing a Kimono

Things to take care of before the dressing starts

✨ Meals, restroom visits, makeup, breastfeeding, changing your baby's diaper, etc.

Items you should prepare

✨ For children and men, we request wearing a loose-fitting undershirt (with or without sleeves is fine) and soft shorts.

✨ For women, we recommend wearing a tank top or camisole with a wide neckline and soft shorts or leggings. Preferably, a wire-free sports bra (like a bra top) is desirable.

✨ Adequate hydration, and for children, non-messy bite-sized snacks or their favorite toys that might lift their spirits could be helpful.
